How to find items to rework

We all know some charity shops don't have the most appealing clothes, however if we look well we can find items with POTENTIAL! 

I tend to scan around and look for pieces with details such as decals, gems, printed patterns, embroidery and/or specific stitching details.

Here are some examples of items I bought for £1-£3 each. I mostly look for printed patterns and pretty colours as that's what draws me in and what I believe I can work with. You may look at these tops and think they're pretty boring and ill fitting however these are what I call items with POTENTIAL.
